About the Role
As a Skid Steer Operator with O’Niels Civil, you’ll play an essential role in supporting earthworks, site preparation, and civil construction activities.
You’ll work across a variety of job sites, assisting with loading, leveling, backfilling, trenching, and material movement as part of our broader project delivery team.
You’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and precise operation of skid steer machinery, ensuring all work meets company and site standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate skid steer loaders safely and efficiently across civil construction sites
- Conduct daily machine pre-starts, maintenance checks, and report issues
- Assist in site preparation, earthmoving, trenching, and material handling
- Work closely with site supervisors and project teams to meet deadlines
- Follow all WHS procedures and site safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and organised work area and ensure machines are kept in top condition
- Contribute to a positive and professional team culture
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Skid Steer Operator within the civil or construction industry
- Current Skid Steer (Bobcat) ticket / VOC and White Card required
- HR or MR driver’s licence (preferred but not essential)
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality outcomes
- Experience working on civil infrastructure, roadworks, or excavation projects
- Ability to read and interpret site plans or supervisor instructions
